The Individual professional certification for a Basic training in a LEED certification process is a three tier phase process and the first in the series is a LEED Green Associate program. It is the fundamental step in the LEED Green endeavor and covers all the basic learning of a LEED Green Building Rating System. Second tier is the LEED AP with specialty, having five LEED specialty exams, requiring individuals to complete documented LEED project experience before attempting to write any of these LEED exams.
Third tier is the LEED AP Fellow which at present hasn’t been defined for qualification criteria by GBCI. Leadership through LEED training and certification strives to influence all those in the building, construction and operation industry, the owners, the contractors, the architects and all those with vested interests put together to take initiatives in constructing buildings that can operate with lesser cost, can stay healthier and with comforts for the occupants eventually making the country and mother planet stay Green. Tier I LEED credentials demonstrate knowledge and skills for supporting green designs. Tier II provides with indepth knowledge of greener practices and Tier III making professionals becoming part of the Green ventures with their own contributions.
